After a 75-degree Friday night in Tuscaloosa last week, it’s a crisp 50 up here this morning. The cold has arrived, and even though I’d already done most of my closet flip, it’s officially time to pack away the last of the summer clothes. :(

Last year, I was just getting used to the temperatures here in Boston, so all I cared about was staying warm. But this year, I really want to try to put together at least a somewhat cute winter capsule wardrobe — one that still keeps me warm, of course.

If you know me, you know I haven’t jumped on the Daily Drills or Parke train — something I’ve been pretty proud of. It’s not in my cart yet, but with Parke coming to Boston next weekend, I might just need to grab the sweatshirt! (Still feels weird saying Boston instead of Dallas…)

The Zara dress I mentioned in the last newsletter came home with me, and I’m thankful it did! I had to nix my plan to wear a long-sleeve suede dress to the Alabama game and pivot to this short sleeve sweater dress last minute. I will say, it runs a bit tight - the small was super snug on me so I’d keep that in mind.

Not clothing-related, but I’ve been dying to get on the Mahjong train — and when the $22 viral Hobby Lobby set came back in stock, I immediately purchased it!

A friend posted this Lulu’s dress this week and my jaw dropped! Someone needs this for an upcoming wedding or even a holiday party! The best part? It’s only $118!!!

I think this cute little short-sleeve sweater dress is coming home with me too! You might see me wearing it in Tuscaloosa next weekend, or around Thanksgiving or Christmas… so, as I always say—act surprised :)

I have yet to hop on the satin pants trend… they look so cute on everyone else, but every time I try them on, all I can think of is PJ Harlow. That said, I do love these from Reformation!

As most of you know, I’d been eyeing this specific barn jacket from Gap for quite some time… I finally snagged it last week on sale for $100, and I’m so excited to wear it! It does run big, so definitely size down.

Continuing on the Gap train, I also picked up these two belts on sale. It looks like they’re back to full price now, but keep an eye out—Gap tends to have sales pop up almost every week!

Lastly, a little home pick for you all—I got this canister from Magnolia Home, and I can’t wait to use it in our new apartment!

Style Round Up: What’s Inspiring Me This Week

If you know me, you know I’ve been absolutely dying to do a color analysis—and last Friday, the time finally came! I did one with my friends and found out I’m a Dark Autumn (so much for Chat insisting I was a Light Winter). Naturally, that’s been on my mind as I shop for clothes this week. If you’ve been on the fence about doing a color analysis, I truly couldn’t recommend it more—it’s such a fun activity to do with family or friends!

This H&M haul was placed right after my color analysis and arrived right in time to make it into this newsletter.

I’m obsessed with this puffer jacket! The tie, the color, everything—it’s perfect. Only $51 and it comes in several other colors. This is the small, so it definitely runs a little big. I could size down to an XS, but I want to be able to wear a sweater underneath (gotta love the Boston cold)

I was so excited about this one. It looked so chic on the H&M website! I’m not sure I love it as much as I thought I would, but I still think it could be cute styled over a long sleeve like they have it on the website!

I love this navy heart sweater. It’s giving Ralph Lauren!

It’s hard to tell in this lighting, but these jeans are actually dark brown! I’ve been looking for a good pair of brown jeans for a while, so I’m really happy with this find. The turtleneck is from this haul too—very cute, but still a little too sheer for my liking.

This week, it felt like every friend I talked to was already talking about fall—fall clothes, fall weather, fall plans, all of it. If you know me, you know I could happily live in a world where it’s summer all year long. But I’ll admit, their excitement has started to put me in a bit of a fall mood.

This year, I’m expecting we’ll see a lot of the same trends as last year—denim on denim (Canadian tuxedos are still having their moment), every shade of brown from caramel to espresso, and deep reds and olive green continuing to dominate. Chunky belts and statement earrings are holding strong as well, adding just the right amount of polish to an otherwise effortless look.

My friend EC (who runs @styledbyecf) posted this blue dress from Dillards yesterday, and I immediately added it to my cart for an October wedding. Then I found out it comes in pink too... now I’m torn—do I go with the blue or the pink? Or, for just $109, should I get both?!

I kept seeing this viral Old Navy striped shirt everywhere, and while I wasn’t sure it was my style, I decided to give it a try. And yep... just not quite for me. Some Instagram bloggers I follow totally pulled it off and made it look soooo chic. But I just felt like I looked like Steve from Blues Clues (thank you for the comparison, ). Just a reminder that you know your style best and it’s okay when something just isn’t you. (!!!) Don’t force it.

Not sure if this one was better or worse… but it doesn’t matter, they’re both still a no from me.

It’s officially Italy month for us, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m still squeezing in a few last-minute outfit orders, so this week’s inspiration is all things European—linen everything, raffia details, effortlessly chic outfits, and playful pops of color.

This bag caught my eye on IG this week, and I couldn’t believe it’s from Amazon. Obsessed with every detail and would be PERFECT for our trip.

Another week, another Free People Set. I honestly don’t shop at FP a ton, but they’ve been killing it recently. I love this set and would definitely get use out of it together or separately.

Many of you have probably seen this dress from MG’s second collab with Antonio Melani (Dillard’s) earlier this year. It’s been one of my favorites since it first dropped, but I just never actually bought it. Now it’s on sale for $161.40, so I’m wondering if this is my sign…. *All the remaining MG pieces are on sale here!

My big ASOS haul arrived last week—and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked everything. That said… I’m so sorry in advance: a few of the pieces have already sold out since I ordered. But I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for restocks and will let you know if anything comes back!

This striped dress was an instant favorite. Unfortunately, it’s one of the ones that already sold out. (You can sign up for restock notifications in your size here.)

This set was so fun too, but the sizing just wasn’t in my favor. I ordered an XS in the top since it was the only size left—way too small. I’d definitely recommend sticking with your true size. I did love the skirt (and it could totally work with other tops), but I really wanted the full set, so I ended up returning it.

Obsessssed with this multi-colored stripe dress. It’s a little see-through, so just something to keep in mind—but it looks like $$$ and was only $45.

I loved this one. It’s so fun and bright. I don’t usually wear orange, so I wanted to switch it up, though I’m still a little undecided—I’m just not sure if I’d wear it much outside of our trip. It also comes in butter yellow and chocolate brown, which I think I’d probably end up wearing more often.

I’ve been eyeing this dress since Morgan Massarelli posted it months ago. I finally pulled the trigger—and loved it! My only gripe is that there’s no zipper, so taking it off wasn’t exactly fun. And after a few glasses of wine in Italy, it would be even less fun. So unfortunately, this one is going back… *this style is also sold out, but I do know it restocks frequently, so sign up for restock notifications!

I loved this one!! I already wore it to tea with my friends last week. It is so flattering and feminine—perfect for work, church, vacation, all the things. There’s another colorway available, but I’d definitely sign up for restocks if you like this one!

Gingham, crisp stripes, navy blue, and perfectly worn-in button-downs… so many classics are back, but honestly, did they ever really leave? Summer’s finally here in Boston, and there’s something about this season’s style that feels effortless, timeless and new.

I have a Staud gift card burning a hole in my pocket… definitely a good problem to have, but I’ve been stalking their site for the past two weeks and still no luck. There are plenty of staple dresses that I love (like this one), but I’m really trying to hold out for a casual one I’ll actually wear more than once. This one’s my favorite so far—it’s just sitting in my cart while I wait (impatiently) for new arrivals to drop.

I’ve been on the hunt for a cute one-piece and found this brown gingham one from Abercrombie—on sale for $40 (originally $80)… a deal that might be too good to pass up. It also comes in a bunch of other colors if gingham’s not your thing!

I saw this Free People Movement set on my FYP, and now it’s living in my head rent-free.

WALMART! Full transparency: I kept the blue and returned the brown. I also kept the matching blue cardigan ($26, below) and already wore it out last weekend. It’s the perfect cardigan to throw on once the sun goes down.

• Everyone loved this Mango Dress when I posted it a few months ago - I even convinced my best friend to wear it for her engagement photos (!). It’s now on sale for $117 (marked down from $180).
